Her exceptional skill makes her a Soviet hero, and she gains the attention of Eleanor Roosevelt, who invites her to the U.S.

Once in the U.S., her situation becomes complex, as various interests attempt to manipulate her in different ways. A fascinating glimpse into some of the complex politics that pervaded World War II in the U.S.
